Della-Stock Gestures by slyshand
Della-Stock Gestures
GESTURE DRAWING - Today's stock provider :icondella-stock: I came across her account a while back and I finally got around to get some drawing in.  There's everything from environments to portraits to objects to full body poses and they're awesome.  I'll be back for more when I get around to some more stock people.

Personal projects, I have an 11 second club in the works, and I have a freelance job with a work friend, so I'll try to keep things going here, but they'll be slower.

ANYONE with any ideas about something animation wise they want explained, or if you have a subject for a handout let me know and it could easily spark a new page of notes.

December2014
My entry for the 11 second club for December 2014 - I'm going to get back into the habit, and do each month if I can :)  Its my only kind of resolution.

I've been making a Zaheer cosplay for Ichibancon, which has come and gone, and I went there as Zaheer for a day, had a ball...   I was there as Major Armstrong on Friday, Zaheer, on saturday and normal thursday and sunday...

Met Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric), Eric Vale (Kimblee) and Phil Lamar (Everything ever) and it was just so much fun... I'm waiting for the post con blues to set in.  And on the same note... I'm so god damned exhausted I could sleep for a day.

The voting is still going on for this when I posted it, if you are a voter, do vote fairly ^__^

Rough Ability Concept
This is one of my friend's original characters, and she was like, hey here are her abilities and they were neat as hell.  So I set her up in a superhero alley way fight situation and this is what happened.

She might get cleaned up by my friend, since she's on the badass side of artists that I know.

Since this is her OC I am going to keep her name and what her actual abilities are a secret other than what you see here.

Merry Holidays and be safe and have fun on New Years :)

Real Life Figure Drawing: 01 by slyshand
Real Life Figure Drawing: 01
So I've been trying to make it a point to go and do art things.  Drawing people isn't even kind of outside of my comfort zone, so I have been going to figure drawing.

This guy had some awesome poses, and for longer poses I had water colors with me which made the whole thing a lot more enjoyable, the first time I went I only had a pen, and you can only sketch a person lying down in so many ways before you want to roll out of there.

I posted a WIP - almost final - youtube thing in the status bar, I was curious if anyone can see it?

Real Life Figure Drawing: 02
This set is from last night.  It was quite enjoyable, the model never did any lying down poses which is great, her legs did fall asleep on her, and that sucks, but it was totally worth the sacrifice.

I'm going to start doing more in watercolor again.  I miss the shit out of some watercolor.

Hope everyone's projects are going well.

I'm looking for specific questions to answer in the coming weeks months that need visual clarification.

ANY question you have about animation I am willing to answer, research and / or explore.

I have a few subjects in my head to go over...

Planning - Checked off*
Breaking down an animated scene
Gesture drawing / silhouette
Facial animation

While I'm not an expert in any one of these things, I feel like creating something that can be used for reference or a starting point will help anyone who may want to.  I've been less than social over the last year or two, and I hope to fix that ^__^

Ask questions, focus my brain and I will contribute.
  • Mood: Eager
  • Listening to: Typing
  • Reading: A Dance of Dragons
  • Watching: My hands
  • Playing: Borderlands 2
  • Eating: Too much and Too little
  • Drinking: only a little

You're welcome!
I've also taken a good look at your animation guidelines, and it really is helpful and making me want to start up animation again!

:D That makes me happy ^__^

Animation is super rewarding once you start getting into it, and every medium of art that I've experienced has crept its way into helping animation in some way.  If there's anything you would want a write up of or have questions about I'll see if they can creep into the next handout / writeup ^__^
